Project Street Dogs Thailand Foundation

1. Introduction

This policy plan describes the objectives, activities, and working methods of the foundation for the period 2026–2028.

The foundation is committed to structurally improving the welfare of stray dogs and cats in Thailand. This involves providing direct assistance to animals in need as well as working on sustainable solutions to reduce animal suffering in the long term.

The foundation is non-profit and serves exclusively the public interest.

2. Mission and objectives

Mission

Reducing animal suffering among stray dogs and cats in Thailand through prevention, medical care, and support for local shelter initiatives.

Objective

The foundation aims to:

  • Improving the welfare of stray animals in Thailand

  • Reducing the stray animal population through sterilization and castration

  • Supporting shelters where underprivileged animals stay for extended periods

3. Activities 2026–2028

The foundation achieves its objective through the following activities:

3.1 Sterilization and castration projects

  • (Co-)financing sterilization and castration projects in Thailand

  • Supporting local veterinarians and volunteers

  • Contributing structurally to population control

Sterilization forms the core of the sustainable policy, as it prevents future stray animal problems.

3.2 Medical care for stray animals

The foundation provides financial support for medical care to stray animals that:

  • Being found sick or injured on the street or at Thai temples

  • Being assisted during sterilization projects

  • Staying in local shelters

Support is provided to, among others:

  • Saved Souls Foundation in the town of Khon Kaen

  • Caros World Foundation in Praburi

The medical assistance includes surgeries, medication, vaccinations, wound care, and aftercare.

3.3 Monthly sponsorship contributions

The foundation provides structural monthly contributions for underprivileged, rescued dogs that are staying long-term at the Saved Souls and Caro's World (Magic Land) shelters and have little chance of adoption.

These contributions are used for:

  • Extra nutrition

  • Medical care

  • Daily care

  • Maintenance of the shelter

3.4 Improvement of reception facilities

If financial resources permit, the foundation contributes to:

  • Renovation and expansion of runs

  • Repair or installation of roofs

  • Improvement of shelter options

  • Other welfare-promoting facilities

3.5 Support for private care

The foundation also supports private shelter initiatives, including Non Nid in Pranburi, where approximately 300 dogs and cats are cared for.

The contribution focuses primarily on costs for animal feed and basic care.

4. Method

The foundation works with local shelter initiatives, veterinarians, and volunteers in Thailand.

Financial resources will be:

  • Carefully managed

  • Spent purposefully

  • Deployed based on urgency and impact

Priority is given to:

  1. Medical emergencies

  2. Sterilization projects

  3. Basic provisions for long-term care animals

5. Fundraising 2026–2028

The foundation generates income by means of:

  • Donations from private individuals

  • Regular sponsors

  • Fundraising campaigns

  • Gifts and inheritances

The foundation aims to grow its donor base to ensure structural support.

6. Management and expenditure of assets

The assets of the foundation are managed by the board.

Basic principles:

  • Non-profit

  • Expenditure in accordance with statutory objective

  • Transparent financial administration

  • Presence of a limited continuity reserve for current liabilities

All funds are spent on projects and support in Thailand.

7. Governance and remuneration policy

The Board is responsible for policy, financial management, and the implementation of the objectives.

  • Board members and volunteers receive no remuneration.

  • Expenses can be reimbursed based on actual costs.

8. Future Vision 2026–2028

For the upcoming policy period, the foundation aims for:

  • Further expansion of sterilization projects

  • Structural continuation of monthly sponsorship contributions

  • Improvement of reception conditions

  • Strengthening cooperation with local partners

  • Growth in financial capacity to help more animals

By combining prevention with direct assistance, work is being done towards a sustainable reduction of animal suffering.
